Lorena Camargo is well-aware that she’s not what a lot of people expect when she meets a prospective courier client.  “I’m the exact opposite of those who have been in this business for many years,” she says.  “I’m younger, I’m a little darker and I’m a woman.”

Her journey from office manager to founder and CEO of Pearl Transportation & Logistics is the cover story in this month’s issue of Courier Magazine

Learn how she started in the industry at age 17 and worked her way up to Vice President of Operation for another courier company.  Find out how, at age 24, she ventured out on her own and founded Pearl Transportation & Logistics with a $25,000 loan from a friend of a friend.

Today, Pearl Transportation & Logistics delivers everything from human tissue to aircraft parts throughout Southern California, the US and even internationally.  The business, which she founded with her sister Guadalupe Morales in 2011 now offers on-demand courier services; routed deliveries; next flight out services; trucking; warehousing and distribution and customized logistics services.  The minority and woman-owned company is TSA certified to deliver cargo to the airlines and has earned the Women Business Enterprise designation.
