Stepping Up in Tough Times
If there’s one thing that COVID-19 has taught businesspeople, it’s the need to pivot and flex. Those who can do it will live to fight another day in today’s challenging business environment.
And that’s exactly what we’re doing every day to keep up with the changing needs of our clients. We’re delivering PPE across the country in days; helping a beauty products manufacturer deliver their newly-created hand sanitizers to customers’ doorsteps and making sure a t-shirt manufacturer can get its new product – protective masks – to customers who need them in record time.
These companies’ needs have changed. Their products have changed. But the push to get the customer what they need when they need it hasn’t. That’s where we come in. Our business is expedited deliveries – in hours or days. It’s our job to deliver anything anywhere anytime. We get it there when it’s needed and we’re helping our customers pivot and flex to meet their customers’ needs.
Here are a few examples of how we’ve partnered with companies to meet the new demands of today’s business environment:
Delivering Protective Masks to Hospitals Across the Country
When 4200 pounds of protective masks had to get to hospitals in Texas, Idaho and Illinois the next day, we made it happen. We sent a 24-foot box truck to a warehouse in Brea, CA and brought the 136 boxes of masks back to our warehouse in Los Angeles. There we broke to down the shipment; packaged the masks for the individual hospitals and arranged to get them to the correct flights so they could be at the healthcare facilities the next day.
It’s all part of ourNext Flight Out service, which guarantees the delivery of long-distance shipments in the fastest possible time. Because of the need to get these masks to healthcare workers as fast as possible, this was the right service for this shipment.
Here’s how our NFO services worked: Through our technology and people, we found the next available flight for the fastest delivery of this precious cargo. Because we are TSA approved, we were able to deliver these packages to the correct flights on the commercial airlines that handle sensitive shipments that require special handling and expedited delivery.
Finding a Better Way to Get Needed Hand Sanitizers to Customers
PearlTrans founder Lorena Camargo spotted a beauty products retailer who was shifting production to hand-sanitizers and wanted to sell them online. This traditional retailer knew how to offer products in their stores but had no experience with ecommerce. The company posted on LinkedIn that they could deliver their new hand sanitizers in seven to 10 days. Lorena knew they get them there faster. In addition, since the retailer had no experience with warehousing and distribution, Lorena talked to them about how they could make use of the PearlTrans warehouse. She presented the idea that the product could be shipped to the PearlTrans warehouse from the manufacturer where it would be re-packed into individual orders and shipped to eager customers for delivery the next day.
Helping a Company Pivot From T-Shirts to Masks
PearlTrans helped a t-shirt company that was shifting it production into making protective masks to be delivered to anxious consumers quickly. The t-shirt company was used to making and shipping their product for delivery in eight to 10 days. That wouldn’t do at a time when everyone, everywhere needs a face-covering. Pearl used its experience making time-critical deliveries to help them reach customers with their new (and needed) products faster than they could imagine.
Making the Pivot and Flex Work
